I Made Lamp Shades!
So, the other day I went to Target to pick up some lamps for our office - we now have two workstations in here and very little light after the sun goes down. So off to Target I went.
I was pleasantly surprised to find two complimentary different polished silver mix-n-match lamp bases. However, I wasn't able to find any shade that remotely matches our accent color - aqua.
After browsing the web I got inspired by Etsy.com. If you haven't visited, it's worth the trip! It's an overload of creative-crafty inspiration.
I found a few shades that were close in color and theme, but not that perfect fit. Sensory overload took over and I thought, "If she can make a lamp shade, so can I." And the internet told me how. :)
So last night I set out to do just that...and succeeded! (For a full run down of the adventure, check out my Twitter posts from last night).
So, alas - after visiting Jo-Ann Fabrics and picking up: two lamp shade sticky frames, material, ribbon, buttons (I love buttons) and a glue gun with sticks, I was set to go.
And...drum roll please...here they are! If you like what you see, or have a question on how to make your own custom lamp shade, leave a comment!
