Jeffries Family

Thank you Jeffries family! You guys were so amazing to work with last week. I had a blast taking pictures of you all; especially your wonderful kids - Jacob, Jeanna and Joshua.

Here's a little preview of some of my favorites from their session here in Long Beach at the Los Cerritos Park.

Micah and Rachel's Wedding

I'm having a hard time putting words to the wonderful wedding I photographed Sunday. Micah and Rachel wed at the Surf and Sand Resort in Laguna Beach, CA with so many loving family and friends present.

The amazing Mariah Nicole was artist for Rachel's beautiful hair and makeup.

Since their e-session in October, I knew they were a special couple - but after being at their wedding I came to realize how truly wonderful they are and what a bright future they have ahead of them.

Rachel recently moved to California, from the U.K., to marry Micah. After meeting they dated long distance until Micah proposed atop the Empire State Building (after his plan to propose on top of the Eiffle Tower).

Not only were they such fun to photograph, these two and their entire family treated us like one of their own. I can't thank all of you enough for your kind words and loving acceptance you gave us yesterday; such a blessing to be a part of this beautiful day!

Here are a few of my favorite images from the day...

Wedding Tip or Trick of the Week

What a week! What am I saying? What a month!

We've been blessed to be busy these past few months with a lot of exciting couples and photography related opportunities.

After surviving this season it's really made me think about what made it all possible. It all comes down to this: communication.

As I reviewed the weddings, engagement sessions and other meetings or tasks associated with running our business it dawned on me that the key to staying organized is...(drum roll please)...communication.

Yup, it's that simple.

My schedule was pretty hectic - but by keeping really open lines of communication with our couples and clients things ran super smoothly (even when unexpected curve balls came our way). I got in the habit of emailing our couples or clients a few weeks before the wedding or session date to clarify all the details: where, when and what time.

I found that by clarifying all the particulars ahead of time it relieved stress not only from me, but for my couples. They were more confident of what would be happening on the shoot date and allowed them to further relax and be themselves (which are key ingredients of a great photograph!).

So thank you for supporting my "crazy communication" and by participating to make your sessions spectacular!

Advice in a nutshell: communicate back with your photographer and ask lots of questions! The more you ask, and the more you talk about the details the better (and simpler) your day will run.

This past weekend I had the privilege of photographing Mark and Kathy's wedding at the Ole Hanson Beach Club in San Clemente, CA.

It was a beautiful intimate affair filled with friends and family. I loved howhttp://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gif this couple focused on celebrating the joy of their wedding day.

Boo!...Halloween

What a wild and crazy Halloween it was! This year Matt and I spent the evening with our students from the youth group, SUSHI, at our church, The River.

Here are a few of my favorite photos/costumes...

Andrew as a 300 Gladiator. Nice.
Self portrait...

My "TMNT" hubbie, Matt. (FYI - TMNT = Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). Note turtle sticker on the t-shirt.

A fearless volunteer leader, Trina.

Virgil "Boom Boom" Cannon in his grad garb with me.

An awesome student, Jarae, as the new Willie Wonka.

(L-R) Jordan and Bean.

"Halloween 1-2-3" game. Note: The ninja can't be caught.

Once again, Jordan and Bean.

Thanks for a great night you guys!
