Bogich's Lifestyle Portraits

I'm amazed at this family.
Their dedication to each other and the love they share is amazing. It's written all over their smiles.
When they invited me to come take some photos of their two kids I was so excited - knowing what a blessing it would be to have a little fun with them, and their dog Sam.
Take a peak at a few of my favorites...

First Friday Gallery Show - July 6

We're happy to announce that we will be having our first gallery showing Friday, July 6 at Tuttle Cameras in Long Beach.

Our showing is part of a larger Bixby Knolls event called First Fridays. In effort to bring the community out for fine art and culture several noted retailers in the area started the event in which stores like Tuttle Cameras and Chroma Glass Designs, among others, stay open late and host local artists and have mini-receptions.

Eight to ten pieces of our wedding photography will be on display from 6pm-10pm. So come check it out! We'd love to see you there.

Tuttle Cameras is located at 4019 Atlantic Ave. in Long Beach, CA 90807.

Hot! Hot! Hot!

No, I'm not talking about our latest head shot session... just the weather.

Thank God for free wi-fi and air conditioning at our local It's A Grind. I'd be at home sweating it out without you.

I remember the first time I went to a Starbucks to meet with a client. Brought all my samples, brochures and a trusty laptop to show them our newly updated website. I was so excited - for about 5 minutes - until I got my non-fat raspberry mocha and opened my Power Book. Safari (the web browser) directed me to a T-Mobile login site. That's when I bitterly learned that Starbucks doesn't offer free wi-fi like me beloved It's a Grind. They charge you, per minute no less.

To access the web you have to sign up and get a login account. From there you pay into it like a pre-paid cell phone. What's our world coming to? We've exchanged free refills for common courtesy. Nothing's free anymore (not even extra sauces at McDonald's) - just our refills.

Okay, sorry for the rant - it's hot, hot, hot and my peach iced tea is just settling in and cooling me off.

Ahh... much better. :)

Hughes Promotion

Today Matt and I got to attend the Hughes Middle School promotion ceremony, where most of the eighth grade students from our youth group SUSHI (where Matt is youth pastor) attend. It was a lot of fun to see our students pass from middle school to start preparing for the big wide world called high school.

Congratulations you guys! You did it - and we're so proud of you!

Here are a few of my favorite shots from this morning...

Just accepted to WPJA!

Yahooie! Man, that was a long four weeks...

About a month ago we decided to apply for the Wedding Photojournalist Association - "a professional organization composed of photojournalists and wedding photographers from around the world...[with a] distinctly artistic vision toward wedding photography," (taken from WPJA's website).

Just this morning we got an email letting us know we're in. It's such an honor to be accepted into this well respected association and we're so excited!

Yea! Another great couple, Mark and Kathy, just asked us to photograph their upcoming November wedding.

David and Sarah's Wedding

My roommate from our senior year at Biola University emailed me the other day, after not having kept in touch over the past couple years, with the subject line saying: "I'M ENGAGED!" It was such exciting news to hear!

After a few email exchanges, and dinner at CPK to meet this man who has stolen my former roommate's heart, they invited us to capture their big day in October.

They'll be having their wedding at Sarah's old home church, New Life Community, with an intimate reception immediately following.

Congratulations you two! Can't wait to be there with you.

PS. David - be good to her. She's an amazing girl. :)

Ratatat - My New Soundtrack

Okay, so it's been a while since I've found a band that I've been really excited about. Then the other day while preparing to shoot at Tuttle Camera's studio one of the other photographers, Curtis, had Ratatat playing.

I was instantly hooked. It's different than most other music I've really gone for, but there's a relaxing "jive" to it that makes me bob my head while walking around, plugging in strobes or sitting at our desk returning emails.

So give them a shot - you just might like them.

Hellyer & Adams Wedding

We are so pleased to announce that this October we get to work with the Hellyer and Adams' families as two of their own unite in marriage - and bring these two families together in a new and exciting way!

Bride and groom will be wed at the Menlo Park Presbyterian Church, with a reception celebration at The Mountain Terrace in Woodside, California.

We've been talking with mother-of-the-bride, (a wonderful woman we can't wait to meet!) as she helps her daughter, Ashleigh, prepare for her new role as wife.

Congratulations! We can't wait to meet you in person in just a few short months.

Cortez Wedding

Tonight I just got to meet a wonderful couple, Benny and Jennifer. These wonderful people met and started dating in high school and now, nearly 12 years later they'll be having the wedding they've always hoped to have with all of their friends, family and two daughters.

Benny and Jennifer hoped to have a church wedding after they married seven years ago - and now they're planning it! Their wedding will take place at in a traditional church and the reception to follow will be hosted by Maggie's Pub in Santa Fe Springs, CA.

Congratulations you two! We look forward to being invited into their special day to capture their beautiful moments.

Long Beach Poly High School Prom Portraits

My, oh, my... So I didn't feel that old until I realized my senior prom was eight years ago. However, it was wonderful celebrating the youth of these Long Beach Poly students.

Our second shooter, Claire, got to have most of the fun last Sunday though, as she went to one of the student's homes where a lovely dinner was served to the prom goers and we got to take their pics.

Here are a few of my favorites...
